Diversity statements are becoming more and more common in the application process, especially for California colleges. But what is ​it and how do you write one? In this workshop, you will look at ​diversity statement examples and learn what you should include when writing your own.

diversity​Does your academic job ad ​ask for a diversity statement? ​Diversity statements are becoming more and more common in the application process, especially for California colleges. But what is ​it and how do you write one?

The Graduate Student Resource Center ​will host a workshop ​to answer ​these and other rhetorical questions.

In this workshop, you will look at ​diversity statement examples and learn what you should include when writing your own. The workshop is open to all UCSB graduate students and postdocs, but enrollment is limited to 15 per workshop, so please RSVP.

If you ​ha​ve a diversity statement and would like some feedback, please bring at least two copies for individual and peer feedback, or have a copy on your computer to read.

Time: ​​Thursday, August 10, ​1-2:30 p.m.

Place: Student Resource Building, Room ​1103

Food: Snack materials will be provided for your hunger needs.
