OVERVIEW
The California Council on Science and Technology (CCST) is inviting California-based graduate students, postdocs, and early-career researchers to apply for the 2025 Science Translators Showcase. This event offers participants a platform to present their research directly to policymakers at the California State Capitol. Participants will undergo specialized training to enhance their science communication skills and gain insight into how their work can inform public policy.
DEADLINE
Applications are due by October 30, 2024, at 11:59 PM PT.
AWARD
Selected participants will receive comprehensive communication training, opportunities to network with state policymakers, and the chance to present their research in a high-visibility setting. This is a unique opportunity to influence science policy while enhancing personal and professional development.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be currently enrolled graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, or early-career faculty affiliated with California-based academic institutions, national laboratories, or research centers. The research presented should have relevance to public policy issues in California.
DETAILS
The Science Translators Showcase will be held on February 5, 2025, at the California State Capitol. Prior to the showcase, participants will engage in virtual training sessions to prepare them for the event.
