Come learn about how the body and brain work -- or don't work -- together to affect your overall well-being. Designed to be a safe space particularly for international students and post-docs. This is the second session in a three-part workshop series "Embodied Consciousness" - attend one or all, and shift your embodiment paradigm!
Join co-facilitators and fellow graduate students Veronica Franco (Graduate Mental Health Peer) and Julia McClenon (International Grad Peer) in the second part of the workshop series "International Perspectives on Embodied Consciousness" âwhere we will discuss embodied cognition and the importance of listening to our bodies.
You do not need to have attended the first workshop to drop in for this one!
Students will learn how our bodies are "intelligent" and worth listening to. We will incorporate activities and resources on how students can become more attuned to their bodies and learn to identify their emotions not only as residing in the head, but as senses within the body.
Discussion will be facilitated around how emotions are not "just" psychic constructs, and psychoeducation will be provided on how anxiety, depression, and trauma impact one's well-being and physical body.
