UCSB's School for Scientific Thought is accepting applications from doctoral students and post-docs to teach science curricula to local high school students in Fall 2016. Apply by July 1!
The School for Scientific Thought (SST) is offering partial fellowships of up to $2,000 for science and engineering graduate students to teach a course in Fall 2016 for an audience of local and regional high school students.
Doctoral students will gain teaching experience by creating a five-session course on a topic related to their research. The SST program is a unique professional development experience that builds communication, teaching, and mentoring skills while focusing on design goals, formative assessment, instructional techniques, and oral communication.
Course Dates: Five consecutive Saturdays in âFall 2016: Sept. 24, Oct. 1, Oct. 8, Oct. 15, and Oct. 22
Eligibility: Science and engineering Ph.D. students and post-docs
Deadline to Apply: July 1
Interviews: July 11-15
Awards: $2,000 each
