The Department of Women, Gender, and Sexual Equity (WGSE) at UC Santa Barbara is hiring an Associate Director. WGSE comprises the Women's Center and the Non-Traditional Student Resource Center. The department is dedicated to providing education on women’s issues, feminism, healthy masculinities, and gender and social equity. Application review will begin on September 20, 2022.

Join Professors Ram Seshadri and Chris Bates tomorrow, September 2nd from 11am-12:30pm for a remote seminar, "Typesetting and Figure Creation for Researchers." This seminar is for science and engineering researchers who care about consistency, clarity, legibility, and aesthetics in their publications, presentations, and reports.

With this year’s theme of “Experimental Teaching,” the Engaging Teaching Symposium invites participants to submit research-based contributions as well as case-studies that make use of available evidence to discuss improved teaching, student learning and engagement, or professional development as teachers. Check out a new mentorship program called The Rancho Academy, designed for students interested in a faculty or administrator career at the community college level. Stanford PRISM (Postdoctoral Recruitment Initiative in Sciences and Medicine) is an opportunity for select late-stage graduate students from diverse backgrounds to explore postdoctoral training at Stanford, including interviewing with potential mentors, getting the inside scoop on postdoctoral training at Stanford from current postdocs, and accessing professional development to score the best postdoc for them. UCSB Library's Carpentry Community is happy to announce it's offerings of entry-level programming workshops for researchers this Summer. These workshops are geared towards researchers with little to no programming experience. Workshops will cover basic concepts and tools, including version control, data management, task automation, and analysis. Read on for more info!
