Did you know that each year approximately 1,500 bicycles get abandoned on the UCSB campus? The UCSB Associated Students Bike Committee and the Community Service Office are hosting their quarterly Fall Bike Sale on Tuesday, October 17.

Gauchos for Recovery, a series of support services for students maintaining recovery from addiction offered through UCSB's Alcohol and Drug Program, is hosting an open 12-step meeting for graduate students and non-traditional students on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in Embarcadero Hall.

On October 16, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will host Hold Me Tight, a workshop for graduate students that teaches skills that can help enhance your relationship with your significant other.

Creating Community provides Black graduate students a safe space to discuss topics that are relevant to their experiences. Beginning October 9, CAPS psychologists Dr. Mario Barfield and Dr. Meridith Merchant will facilitate weekly Monday meetings in the EOP conference room.

The Division of Student Affairs recently announced that it will match all new gifts and pledges to the UCSB's Dream Scholar Fund dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000 from now until December 31, 2017.

UCSB's Society for Advancement of Chican@s/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) Graduate Chapter is hosting a Welcome Back BBQ at Goleta Beach Area B on Friday, October 6, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Interested in earning an Amazon gift card while participating in exciting research? The Department of Education is inviting graduate students to participate in a focus group to explore UCSB's designation as a Hispanic-Serving Institution.

The annual Diversity Immigrant Visa Program is administered by the U.S. Department of State; it makes up to 50,000 immigrant visas available to persons meeting certain eligibility requirements. Visas are allocated to natives of countries with historically lower rates of U.S. immigration.

The International Student Support Program (ISSP) is a free service to help UCSB's international students adapt to a new culture, support academic success, and discuss issues related to acculturation or homesickness.

Come out to the Black Graduate Student Mixer on October 5 from 4-5 p.m. at the Multicultural Center lounge. Enjoy some refreshments as you mix and mingle with new and returning Black grads and staff.

The India Association of Santa Barbara is hosting a New Student Orientation at the San Clemente Center on Thursday, September 21, from 5-7 p.m. IASB will provide pizza and soft drinks, as well as a space for new students to meet and connect.
