Creating Community provides Black graduate students a safe space to discuss topics that are relevant to their experiences. Beginning October 9, CAPS psychologists Dr. Mario Barfield and Dr. Meridith Merchant will facilitate weekly Monday meetings in the EOP conference room.

 Established by UCSB Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and supported by the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Creating Community provides Black graduate students a safe space to discuss topics that are relevant to their experiences. Topics may include interpersonal relationships, self-care, navigating research, departmental support, and adjusting to UCSB and the Santa Barbara community. Beginning October 9, Dr. Mario Barfield and Dr. Meridith Merchant will facilitate weekly Monday meetings at the EOP conference room (Student Resource Building 2228).

When: Mondays, 3-4 p.m.
