Great Minds in STEM, also known as the HENAAC Scholars Program, awards yearlong scholarships to Hispanic students studying science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM). Deadline is April 30, 2017.
Great Minds in STEM, also known as the HENAAC Scholars Program, awards up to 109 yearlong scholarships to Hispanic students studying science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM). The program strives to fund and empower Hispanic students in STEM and help them succeed in the professional and technological world. Also administrated by Great Minds in STEM, there are three types of scholarships: Corporate/Government Sponsored Scholarships, Special Recognition Scholarships, and In Memoriam and Personal Tribute Scholarships. Corporate sponsors include Cummins, Raytheon, NASA Space Flight Center, and Southern California Edison.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must demonstrate leadership through academic achievements and campus/ community activities. Recipients must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program for the fall semester of the following year. Must have GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must be Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) related majors. Must be of Hispanic origin and/or must significantly participate in and promote organizations and activities in the Hispanic community. Essay. Resume. 2 letters of recommendation: 1 from a peer and 1 from a faculty member. Official transcript with seal. Photo. Students working on a second masters or doctoral degree are not eligible to apply.
STIPEND
Scholarships range from $500 to $10,000.
