UCGHI Student Ambassador Program 2021-2022

OVERVIEW
The University of California Global Health Institute is seeking applicants across all UC campuses and partnering with Historically Black College and University (HBCU), Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, for its 2021-2022 Student Ambassador Program. This leadership opportunity is open to all students (i.e., undergraduate, graduate, medical, nursing, law, etc.) who are dedicated to personal and professional growth by serving and representing their respective UC or HBCU campus. UCGHI Student Ambassadors will develop, organize, and promote Women's Health, Gender, and Empowerment (WHGE) or Planetary Health (PH) activities on UC campuses and mobilize student, faculty and staff involvement to catalyze critical change. Students will receive a $250 stipend. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to engage with key faculty, researchers, and leaders in either PH or WHGE while also strengthening professional networks.

ELIGIBILITY

• Persons with disabilities, Black, Hispanic, and American Indian or Alaska Native, First-Generation students, and LGBTQ+ students are strongly encouraged to apply.

• Applicants must be currently enrolled at a UC campus (i.e., undergraduate, graduate, medical, nursing, law, etc.) or partnering Historically Black College & University (i.e., Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science).

• Demonstrate strong communication (written and verbal), including responsiveness to email communication.

• Exhibit leadership, initiative, dependability, curiosity, and enthusiasm for global health.
