The UCSB Academic Senate is now accepting applications for the 2021-22 Doctoral Student Travel Grant. Students are now eligible to receive two in-person Doctoral Student Travel Grants, one of which may be used for international travel, during their graduate career at UCSB. The grants are awarded to eligible students on a first-come, first-served basis each fiscal year, so apply soon!
OVERVIEW
The UCSB Academic Senate is now accepting applications for the 2021-22 Doctoral Student Travel Grant. The Doctoral Student Travel Grant awards travel funds to graduate students who have been invited or selected to present a paper, present research, perform or exhibit at a major professional conference or meeting. Students are now eligible to receive two in-person Doctoral Student Travel Grants, one of which may be used for international travel, during their graduate career at UCSB. A student who receives a grant for a virtual conference will still be eligible to receive two grants for in-person conferences.
The funding for the 2021-22 Doctoral Student Travel Grant is split into two equal pools:
- Pool One: Conference travel between July 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021
- Pool Two: Conference travel between January 1, 2022 and June 30, 2022
The grants are awarded to eligible students on a first-come, first-served basis for each pool, so apply soon!
DEADLINE
Apply at least 21 days in advance of travel.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be doctoral students and have advanced to candidacy, or if Masters of Fine Arts students, must be in their second year and be in candidacy prior to travel.
