The National Science Foundation Division of Graduate Education will be hosting a webinar this Monday, September 19th from 6:00 - 10​ a.m. PST (9:00 ​a.m. - 1:00 ​p.m. ET). ​​There will be two panels focused on Inventing the Way Forward: Graduate Education for the STEM Workforce.

Panel 1: The Big Picture: Challenges and Opportunities in Graduate Education. Six researchers funded by EHR/DGE will present their findings and perspectives.

Panelists: Nilsa Bosque-Perez, University of Idaho; David Feldon, Utah State University; Ann Gates, University of Texas El Paso; Julia Lane, New York University; Colin Philips, University of Maryland; Henry Sauermann, Georgia Institute of Technology

Panel 2: There is no "Typical" in T: From PhD to STEM Leader. Six early-and mid-career individuals who were funded by NSF during their graduate studies will discuss their diverse non-academic career journeys and the professional development experiences that made these careers possible.

Panelists: June Andrews, Pinterest; Jeffrey Margolis, Illinois Math and Science Academy; Melissa Boone, Microsoft; Ronald Hunter, The Coca-Cola Company; Sarah Ryker, US Department of the Interior; Maya Wei-Haas, the Smithsonian Institute.
