Graduate students are invited to attend and present their research at City of Hope’s 4th Annual Biomedical Research Graduate Student Symposium, to be held via Zoom on August 28, 2020. The submission deadline for abstracts is July 31, 2020 and presenters may be eligible for monetary prizes. Read on for more details!
Graduate students are cordially invited to attend and present their research at City of Hope's 4th Annual Biomedical Research Graduate Student Symposium on Friday, August 28, 2020. This one-day event will be held via Zoom and will promote professional development and foster communication between graduate students in the southern California area and beyond. Presenters may also be eligible for monetary prizes. Registration is free and is now open online here.
The symposium's keynote speaker is Dr. Adam J. Engler, Professor and Vice Chair of
Bioengineering at the UC San Diego Sanford Consortium for Regenerative
Medicine. In addition to the keynote address, the symposium will feature a career panel
with speakers from industry and alternative paths, as well as a session
regarding mental health and graduate school. Presentations will be followed
by a networking hour where attendees will be able to network with the
speakers.
Graduate students are encouraged to present their current research. This year the online event will feature five different research areas for student presentations.
- Metabolism & Aging
- Immunology
- Translational Medicine
- Genome Stability
- Gene Expression & RNA
Select students will be chosen to give oral presentations in each
of the research areas, which are each eligible for monetary prizes.
Abstract Submission
The deadline for submission of abstracts is Friday, July 31, 2020.
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts of 500 words or less can be submitted online with the option to
select a research focus for your presentation. Select students will be chosen to give oral presentations in each of the research areas, and may be eligible for monetary prizes. Please email gradsymposium@coh.org with any questions or concerns.
