The Department of Black Studies is now accepting applications for Teaching Assistantships for ​the 2020-2021 academic year. To complete the application please visit the department website here.

Under the Graduate Teaching Assistants tab you will see two links, one for the application itself and one for academic information that must be included in your submitted application. ​Applicants must complete and submit all of the following:

  • The UCSB Black Studies Teaching Assistant application
  • Academic information form (to be filled out by your Staff Graduate Assistant)
  • Cover letter (limited to one page)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Writing sample (double spaced, 3-5 pages only)
  • Unofficial copy of undergraduate transcript(s)
  • Unofficial copy of graduate transcript(s)
  • One letter of reference
  • Copies of course evaluations

All materials are to be submitted electronically. The letter of reference can be emailed from the recommender's university email address to the Undergraduate Advisor, Theresa Harkness.
