What Is Fulbright?

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. Recipients of these highly competitive awards are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement, as well as their record of service and leadership potential in their respective fields. For Current Graduate Students: Applicants are encouraged to meet with Shawn Warner (Director of Graduate Student Professional Development) for questions regarding the application process and with Robby Nadler (Director of Academic, Professional, and Technical Graduate Writing Development) to review their application materials prior to submitting.

For Current UCSB Undergraduates, Recent Alumni, and ETA Applicants: Current undergraduates, recent alumni, and applicants to the English Teaching Assistant (ETA) programs are NOT required to submit materials by the campus deadline and do not participate in the campus interview process. For general questions regarding the application process, contact Shawn Warner (Director of Graduate Student Professional Development). For support in reviewing application materials, contact Nick Alward-Saxon (Executive Assistant to the Dean of Undergraduate Education) or the Campus Learning Assistance Services Writing Lab.
