The Office of Summer Sessions is looking to hire Teaching Associates from STEM areas to develop courses to be delivered from June 28 – July 23, 2021. These courses will be part of a collection of dynamic research tracks offered in a competitive pre-college outreach program called Summer Research Academies. There are two Teaching Associate positions available for Summer 2021. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but must be submitted by December 1. Read on to learn more!

UC Santa Barbara's Summer Sessions is looking to hire Teaching Associates from STEM areas to develop 4-unit courses. There are two positions available for Summer 2021. These courses will be part of a collection of dynamic research tracks offered in a competitive pre-college outreach program called Summer Research Academies. It is currently anticipated that these courses will be delivered virtually.

Course Dates: June 28 - July 23, 2021 (4-week session during Session A)

Parent Course: INT 93LS - Introduction to Research in STEM, Humanities, and Social Sciences

Salary: $4,765 (w/advancement to candidacy by Spring 21) or $4,527 (w/o advancement to candidacy)

Application Deadline: Open until filled, no later than December 1

Desired areas: Computer Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Psychology, Mathematics, Environmental Studies

Course Support:

- Materials budget of up to $2,025

- Two Teaching Assistants (one at 50% and another at 25%)

- Up to 27 high achieving high school students enrolled - associates will be invited to hand select the students for their course

- Training with other teaching associates provided
