Develop Your Brand: An employer's perspective on how to advance your career after graduation

Did you know the California State Auditor's Office employees are performance evaluators, improvement specialists, and people who help determine how well various state programs use state funding? Did you know that they are looking for well-rounded people from a variety of disciplines? And, did you know that--even with the name 'Auditor' in the title--you don't need to have any experience with accounting? ​Come to ​this workshop on Tuesday, May 28, and discover the fascinating, and often misunderstood, role of the Auditor's office.

Shana Love, MPA, will share crucial practices for career success built from having a successful personal brand. She will go into detail about leadership, personal conduct and image, and how your values can shape your career. She is interested in helping Social Science, Humanities, Education, and Fine Arts (SHEF) graduate students explore how their skills would be well-adapted for this profession. Importantly, Shana will clarify what the Auditor's ​Office ​​is really like and how the work is a great fit for graduate students who are team players with strong critical thinking, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.

Shana will also remain on campus from 11​am to 2pm for drop-in visits. So whether you attend the presentation or not,​ please feel free to swing by and get some one-on-one time with a recruiter.
