Common Stressors in Grad School and How to Address Them
Let's face it: there are a lot of experiences and situations that can make grad school stressful. Do you already have some concerns? Your academic counselor, Ryan Sims, wants to know! There are a number of strategies that can help you better manage the different forms of adversity you may encounter. In this workshop, Ryan will host an interactive discussion about some common grad student life experiences and share with you some tools and techniques to address them.
Topics may include:
- dealing with perfectionism and imposter syndrome
- problems associated with achieving work-life harmony
- managing stress
- dealing with burnout
- communication and other issues that might come up with an advisor or PI
- dealing with health, financial, or other life complications that can occur
- navigating difficult conversations with your advisor, department, and others
Come ready to share and/or learn about these things and more. Campus resources that will help support your well-being and success will also be featured.
