Calling all graduate students! UCSB Residential and Community Living is currently in the process of hiring graduate students Resident Assistants in San Clemente Villages for the 2018-2019 academic year. Some of the benefits of this position include opportunities for professional development, working alongside UCSB staff/faculty, and helping fellow graduate students find their place here on campus.

​Eligibility Criteria:

  • Maintain UCSB full-time student status for employment
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 per quarter and a 2.3 cumulative GPA
  • Be eligible to work the RA 25% time for the duration of the 2018-19 academic year without surpassing the federal employment limits of 50% for international students and 75% for domestic students
  • Complete and pass a fingerprint scan and background check

Time Commitment and Duties Required:

  • Must be available for Student Leadership Development (SLD) training mid-August to mid-September. Specific dates to be finalized.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights
  • Maintain weekly one-on-one meeting with supervisors (typically 30-60 minutes) during business hours
  • Have flexibility in academic and work load to be present in the community and available to residents
  • Be available for additional duties over some holiday and extended breaks (can typically work with scheduling)
  • Work a 2-hour office shift weekly
  • Participate in programming and other community-building initiatives
  • Enforce and uphold policies and serve on after-hours on-call rotation with 9 other staff members
  • Interest in contributing to the overall wellness and successful engagement of graduate students in the San Clemente community
  • Additional duties as assigned
