Success in graduate school is more than just reading, writing, and researching. For graduate student parents, it is crucial to find adequate support and resources for your family in order to thrive as a scholar. Whether you already have children or are thinking about starting a family while in graduate school, UCSB has resources, support, and benefits to help you thrive.

In addition to the many resources already available to student parents, the Graduate Division would like to highlight two new benefits for fall 2018:

  • There has been an increase in the Childcare Reimbursement Program for ASEs and GSRs (from $900/quarter to $1,100/quarter)
  • There is a newly launched website, MyFamily, that features family-friendly resources for all of our campus' students, faculty, and staff

For more information about these benefits and other benefits for UCSB student parents, please visit the Graduate Student Parents Resource Page or check out the Graduate Student Parent Info Sheet. The Graduate Division has also compiled a comprehensive packet of information, forms, and contacts for graduate student parenting accommodations.
