The Art of Science initiative invites current UCSB undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs to tell the story of their research through the aesthetic. Whether it be striking spectroscopic images of a new material, data from a series of simulations, interesting photos of a device or instrument, or some other aspect of research captured visually, the Art of Science Competition invites you to share it.

Since 2014, the annual competitions have seen over 300 submissions, with winning pieces on exhibits at the UCSB Library; MOXI; UCSB Art, Design and Architecture Museum; and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. The UCSB community looks forward to these works of art sharing the creativity and joy of discovery with our community.
