"Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution" Director Discussion

In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month and the 30th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Carsey-Wolf Center and UCSB Library are delighted to co-host a virtual discussion with the directors of the film, "Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution" (2020). Disability Culture and Activism: UCSB and Beyond

Please join UCSB Library for an event inspired by a class project and exhibition highlighting the history of disability culture and activism at UCSB. Students from Jesse Miller's Winter 2020 "Disability Aesthetics" (ENGL 170DA) course will present their class project, an exhibition created using archival materials from the Library's Special Research Collections. Pacific Views Library Speaker Series - Black Power Afterlives: From the Black Panther Party to Black Lives Matter

What does the study of the afterlife of the BPP teach us about unexpected sites of struggle that inform academic knowledge and political organizing today? Diane Fujino and Matef Harmachis draw from their new book, "Black Power Afterlives," to discuss the multifaceted arenas in which Black Panther activism continues on.
