Did you know? The Healing Center is a new specialty clinic of the Hosford Clinic that provides psychological services to Black and African American clients of all ages. In addition to general stressors and life issues, the Healing Center acknowledges the effects of racial trauma, marginalization, and injustice on social and health disparities among Black communities. All services at the Healing Center are provided by Black therapists who have an interest in addressing the negative toll of anti-Black racism on Black residents in our local community. Services are on a sliding fee schedule and UCSB students qualify for the lowest community fee of $25/session, with further fee reductions possible. Read on to learn more!

The Healing Center is a new specialty clinic of the Hosford Clinic that provides psychological services to Black and African American clients of all ages. In addition to general stressors and life issues, the Healing Center acknowledges the effects of racial trauma, marginalization, and injustice on social and health disparities among Black communities.
The Healing Center serves the general public as well as undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff from our local universities/colleges. At the Healing Center, you can seek short, medium, or long-term services depending on your need. Appointments are not limited and you can continue to access the clinic even after you graduate.
Who Are the Therapists at the Healing Center?
All services at the Healing Center are provided by Black therapists who have an interest in addressing the negative toll of anti-Black racism on Black residents in our local community.⣠The Healing Center at the Hosford Clinic is a training site for students in the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology (CCSP) of UCSB and as a clinical facility for the faculty and students of the CCSP Department.

How Much Does an Appointment Cost?
Services are on a sliding fee schedule of $25 to $100/session. UCSB and SBCC students receive services at our lowest community fee of $25/session. Due to the economic impacts of Covid-19 all clients may apply for further fee reductions if needed.

How Does COVID-19 Impact the Healing Center?
The Hosford Clinic is currently fully operational and accepting new teletherapy, in person, and hybrid clients. The Clinic has a comprehensive safety plan approved by the University in place.
