ACTIVITIES The Photonics Society offers a variety of activities, including lectures, outreach events, social events, student talks, and Women in Photonics Week. They hold general meetings every two weeks on Wednesdays at 2pm (the next one is on 4/21). In celebration of the International Day of Light (May 16), the UCSB Photonics Society is creating kits for local students to learn about laser communications! These kits are based on the activity hosted at MOXI and will be safely distributed during early May. See the photo below from the 2019 MOXI event. In collaboration with the Quantum Foundry, the Photonics Society is hosting a Quantum Industry Showcase where students will be able to talk with companies during two fireside chats, network virtually, and show off their work in a poster competition. Students can attend the event by registering here before April 22. |
