Next week, UCSB Arts & Lectures welcomes acclaimed materials scientist and science communicator Dr. Ainissa Ramirez. On Feb 22, Dr. Ramirez will host a lunch and learn session on the topic of “Diversity in STEM.” On Feb 23, Dr. Ramirez will deliver an illustrated presentation on the impact of women and people of color in science and engineering. Both events are free.

Next week, UCSB Arts & Lectures will welcome acclaimed materials scientist and science communicator Dr. Ainissa Ramirez. Dr. Ramirez will be at UCSB on February 22 and 23. Both of these events are free!

On Wednesday, February 22, Dr. Ramirez will host a lunch and learn session from 1-2 pm in 1010 Henley Hall on the topic of "Diversity in STEM." Pizza will be provided.

The following evening, February 23, Dr. Ramirez will deliver an illustrated presentation in Campbell Hall at 7:30 pm on the impact of women and people of color in science and engineering. Registration is recommended.

Ainissa Ramirez is the sole author of The Alchemy of Us: How Humans and Matter Transformed One Another and Save Our Science: How to Inspire a New Generation of Scientists. She is co-author with Allen St. John of Newton's Football: The Science Behind America's Game.
