UCSB Reads presents Charles Montgomery, author of "Happy City: Transforming Our Lives Through Urban Design" in a free community talk on May 10 at 7:30pm at Campbell Hall.

Charles Montgomery is an award-winning author, urbanist, and leader of a consultancy building more happiness into cities. Montgomery works with the World Health Organization's Europe Healthy Cities Network, collaborates with TIME magazine on an interactive survey exploring happiness in American cities, and launched the world's first Happy Neighborhood Audit in Mexico City. In "Happy City," he looks at the intersection between urban design and the emerging field of "happiness studies." Discover the link between urban design and our thoughts, feelings and actions as Montgomery demonstrates life-changing relationships with the cities we inhabit.
