OVERVIEW
A postdoctoral fellowship honoring Darlene C. Hoffman has been launched at Berkeley Lab as part of the NextGen Nonproliferation Leadership Development Program. LBNL is inviting four highly competitive fellows annually to engage in independent research closely aligned with nonproliferation mission objectives. Fully funded through the NNSA's Nonproliferation Stewardship Program (NSP), fellows have the opportunity to develop expertise in their respective fields while gaining a comprehensive understanding of nonproliferation missions, including safeguards, forensics, arms control, and treaty verification. Two-year research projects are expected to be both innovative and novel, with direct relevance to nonproliferation efforts. Fields of interest encompass actinide chemistry, nuclear physics, AI/ML, radiation detection, nuclear data, radiation effects, remote sensing, QIS, cyber security, and more. For additional information, please reach out to Shawn Tornga, Office of National and Homeland Security, via email at stornga@lbl.gov or Stefanie Harding, LBNL Career Pathways Office, at sharding@lbl.gov. General inquiries can also be made by emailing nextgen@lbl.gov.
