A panel of faculty and students will provide insight on the Ford Foundation Fellowship Program application process at an information session on Thursday, October 27.
Panelists for the session include Edwina Barvosa (Feminist Studies), Denise Segura (Sociology), and Rosie Bermudez (Chicana/o Studies) who will discuss the "nuts and bolts" of applying as well as discipline-specific information. Miroslava Chavez-Garcia, Professor of History and Faculty Director of Graduate Diversity Initiatives, will give the welcome and Ph.D. candidate Ester Trujillo (Chicana/o Studies) will also participate and moderate the session.

Through its Fellowship Programs, the Ford Foundation seeks to increase the diversity of the nation's college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, to maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.

- Eligibility: U.S. Citizens and permanent residents. Membership of underrepresented group. Committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level.
- Fields: Almost all fields. See list.
- âSupport: Three years of a $24,000 stipend, which must be used within five years.
- Deadlines: November 17 for pre-doctoral fellowship; November 10 for dissertation fellowship; November 10 for postdoctoral fellowship (all deadlines 5 p.m. EST)
Note: this information session will focus on the Pre-Doctoral Fellowship and the Dissertation Fellowship.
