The Graduate Division is pleased to circulate a dedicated call for proposals to connect UCSB graduate-program alumni with current students about the job market, skills needed to advance successful careers, and the alumna/us experience in chosen career pathways.
Past funded events have included career panels, day-long programs, brown-bag discussions, lectures on careers inside and outside academia, and workshops aimed at training students for entry into a range of careers. Given the current nature of the job market, these interactions with successful alumni are more important than ever.
Proposals are sought for creative activities designed to facilitate conversations related to career development. Proposals must be submitted by students. Please complete the attached form and include the necessary documents. In addition, the Graduate Division will entertain requests for co sponsorship of conferences and other scholarly collaborations, if they significantly advance graduate student professional development.
Inquiries and requests for funding should be submitted by email to Interim Dean Leila Rupp at graddeans@graddiv.ucsb.edu.
