Registration is open for the Summer Teaching Institute for Associates (STIA). STIA supports graduate students as they design and teach summer courses as the Instructor of Record. The program is free, and supports both novice and experienced graduates students by giving them an opportunity to get feedback on their syllabi, learn effective teaching approaches, and earn an STIA Certificate by participating in flexible online and face-to-face modules.

STIA consists of these modules:

Module 1: Planning Your Summer Sessions Course, will run online from May 10 to June 4 (end date can be extended for those teaching Session B).

Module 2: Teaching & Assessment, consists of face-to-face and online workshops from late May to early June (plus additional workshops leading up to Session B).

Module 3: Mentoring, gives Associates the opportunity to work with a faculty member, who leads a Mentoring Circle with a group of summer Associates. Mentoring circles meet three times (before and during the summer course).

By completing STIA, Associates also satisfy requirement No. 2 of the Certificate in College and University Teaching (CCUT).
