If you are traveling to present your research at a conference, be sure to read up on recent changes to the Graduate Student Association's $200 conference travel grant award. Previously, this grant has been awarded on a monthly first-come, first-served basis, but there is now a quarterly submission process within a limited timeframe and awardees are chosen via a lottery system.

Eligibility

In order to qualify, an applicant must be accepted to present original research data and have expenses NOT covered by other funding sources. Travel grants are only available ONCE per academic year, which includes the summer after the spring quarter.

Grant Lottery Process

During the academic year, 45 travel grants are allocated each quarter. Eligible applications will be chosen randomly using a lottery system after the application process has closed.

Application Deadlines

Applications are accepted for review at the beginning of the quarter in which the student will attend the conference. During the summer quarter, travel grants are given on a first-come, first-served basis starting July 1st.

To read full information on eligibility, selection process, and application deadlines, view the Graduate Student Association website. You can contact the GSA Vice President of Budget and Finance, Luke Rosedahl, with any questions.

For graduate students who have advanced to candidacy, additional conference travel funding can be found through Academic Senate.
