UCSB's Office of Judicial Affairs seeks to hire a Graduate Assistant who is responsible for processing low-level student conduct matters. The role of the office is to maintain the integrity of the academic and co-curricular experience for all students and to ensure campus safety through the investigation and adjudication of University policy violations. Details of the position are listed below.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Investigates and resolves academic and behavioral student misconduct cases including alcohol possession and low-level academic integrity violations
2. Interviews accused students, witnesses, and the reporting party to obtain an accurate and objective account of the alleged violation
3. Responds to referrals of students with emotional/psychological issues as they relate to actual or potential violations of campus policy
4. Assist with educational conversations related to low-level policy violations
5. Implements student sanctions as instituted by the Division of Student Affairs
6. Manages the electronic database for student conduct records, appropriate documentation, and compliance with state and federal laws
7. Facilitate Restorative Justice Process
8. Assists with the coordination of administrative functions of the office and interprets University and UC policy as appropriate
9. Works with University Police, University Housing Staff, and Faculty regarding conduct matters related to academic integrity and behavioral misconduct

Required Qualifications:
1. Currently enrolled UCSB graduate student during the time of appointment with a minimum 3.0 GPA, making normal progress towards the graduate degree
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
3. Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects
4. Knowledge of campus departments and support services
5. Ability to work up to 50% time (20 hours)
6. Ability to attend weekly staff meetings

Desirable Qualifications:
Extensive experience working with undergraduate students
