The Resouce Center for Sexual & Gender Diversity (RCSGD) is seeking a Graduate Fellow for Education Initiatives.

This position contributes to the RCSGD mission of ensuring that LGBTQ students, staff, and faculty are supported and affirmed at UCSB. This position will work closely with the Associate Director and the Director of the RCSGD to create new components of the center's education portfolio. This role will have primary responsibility for building curriculum and designing at least one online module for the Queer and Trans Identities and Experiences (QTie) Seminars program. This position may support the full-time and undergraduate members of the center staff. Students at any point in their graduate programs are welcome to apply.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Review current QTie Seminars curricula and suggest edits to improve content to better meet outcomes;
● Research topics of trans justice, racial justice, and LGBTQ justice to inform curriculum development;
● Consult other universities to identify benchmarks to use in creating module(s);
● Build curriculum for module(s) in collaboration with Associate Director and Director, and consult undergraduate student staff on curriculum development;
● Design module in Comevo platform, including static and dynamic learning elements (training will be provided);
● Pilot module with students, faculty, and staff, and edit based on feedback from various constituent groups;
● Create evaluation tool to be used in assessing module effectiveness over time;
● Build curriculum, design additional modules, and pilot as time allows;
● Co-facilitate Queer and Trans Identities and Experiences Seminars as needed;
● Represent the Center at various events and outreach activities geared toward graduate students as needed;
● Communicate clearly, thoughtfully, and professionally in all interactions and materials representing the RCSGD, and;
● Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
● Experience working with initiatives for LGBTQ justice, racial justice, and/or social justice;
● Knowledge of LGBTQ topics and concerns;
● Ability to hold weekly office hours in the RCSGD and attend select center events (including some evening and weekend hours), and;
● Enrolled in a graduate program at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
● Experience building curriculum;
● Experience educating others on minoritized communities;
● Demonstrated experience working with LGBTQ people, and;
● Basic skills in web design.

COMPENSATION AND DURATION:
● Compensation commensurate with salary of a Reader; see here, and;
● 19 weeks during Winter 2020 and Spring 2020 Terms.
