Hold Me Tight® is an educational and experiential workshop that introduces core concepts of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to nurture emotional closeness in a couple. This workshop hosted by UCSB's Counseling & Psychological Services will help partners get unstuck from repeating patterns of arguing or silent distancing, co-regulate intense emotions with your partner when you are both distressed, and learn how to communicate in new ways that promote better understanding, closeness and connection.

You are encouraged to bring ​your partner (partner does NOT need to be an UCSB student), but you can so register as an individual participant

The goal of this workshop are:

  • Understand your "attachment style" in relationship
  • Enhance both partner's sense of security in relationship
  • Identify people's common pattern of fights
  • Regulate hot emotions during a conflict
  • Learn skills of de-escalating the conflict, repair and reconnect
