The Center for Science and Engineering Partnerships and The California NanoSystems Institute will be hosting a professional development series designed to help prepare graduate students and postdocs who will be mentoring undergraduates in research this summer.

In this second professional development series summer mentor preparation workshop, facilitator Dr. Jens-Uwe Kuhn will provide a brief introduction to mentoring goals, aligning expectations between mentors and mentees, and strategies for day-to-day managing of a summer research intern project and making it a successful experience for both you and your intern. In small groups, you will share your ideas, tips, and thoughts on mentoring based on your summer project (in whatever raw, or refined, state it is in). This workshop is open to anyone who will be mentoring a STEM summer research intern.

Please note that you must RSVP to attend this as we will email participants a 1-page worksheet to review in preparation for the workshop.
