Join us for the opening reception of UCSB library's exhibition Nuestras Américas: An Exploration of Expressive Cultures in Latina and Latino America. Through the use of musical and visual art, the exhibit highlights the history of people of Latin American descent in the United States. Additionally, the exhibit examines how various forms of cultural expression are influenced by Latin American's African, indigenous, and European roots. This free event will be on October 18 from 5:30 - 8:00 pm in the Special Research Collections (3rd floor, mountain side). There will be live music by Mariachi Isla Vista Quartet and remarks by UCSB Professor Díaz-Sánchez and UCR Professor Macías. The exhibit will be on display until December 7, 2018.
