Navigating higher education can be challenging, particularly during an ongoing pandemic and hybrid instruction. As we pursue school it can include periods of high stress and anxiety. Students who experience stress and anxiety related to their academics and milestones may feel like their ability to complete tasks, maintain a schedule, and prepare for midterms/finals/milestones are impacted. If this resonates, you might benefit from attending the School Anxiety Program (SAP).

WHAT ARE SAPs:

SAPs are designed to provide students with skills and tools to help manage stress and anxiety surrounding workload, milestones, & academic anxiety. SAPs are open to all UCSB graduate and undergraduate students.

HOW IT WORKS:

SAP integrates a peer-to-peer model, where you work directly with a Mental Health Peer (a UCSB student). SAPs are available to all undergraduate and graduate students.

WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT:

SAPs include three 1-hour long sessions over a 3 week period.

HOW TO SIGN UP:

Fill out this survey to be connected to a mental health peer. Once you submit your responses you will be contacted within 5 business days to schedule a brief screener (15 - 20-minute phone call) to ensure SAP is a good fit. Once you are cleared, you will be contacted to coordinate a time to meet for the first SAP. You will be paired with a peer who will be working with you over the course of the three weeks.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

***SAPs are not intended to replace or be a therapy space.

***All scheduled meetings will be via Zoom between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm.
