His recent work, "Suicide and Contemporary Science Fiction," highlights how contemporary science fiction is fascinated with suicide. This interest in creative self-destruction is seen in recent films (Looper, Inception, Prometheus), as well as a range of science fiction works (The Island of Doctor Moreau, Solaris, Ender's Game, Neuromancer, "Bloodchild," The Handmaid's Tale).

What does suicidal crisis mean in these recent works? Come to the lecture and learn about creative self-destruction within these science fiction works.
