Lisa GatesLisa Gates, co-founder of the Santa Barbara-based firm SheNegotiates, will be holding a workshop for all grad students and postdocs on negotiating salaries after graduation. In this hands-on workshop, Lisa will discuss the five core career strategies that will get you influencing, negotiating, and leading with confidence and success. Key outcomes covered in the workshop are:

  • Develop your personal-value proposition by assessing your achievements and contributions for values, strengths, and repeating themes.
  • Understand the value of building an Influence Plan to make sure you are seen, heard, and valued.
  • Learn how to map your personal value to the goals and interests of your potential employer.
  • Learn the vocabulary and practice the strategies of mutual-benefit negotiation so you can start smart and stay smart in your career.

Please note that although SheNegotiates provides business and salary coaching primarily to women in the workplace, grad students and postdocs of all genders are welcome at this event! Lisa will be sharing valuable career and negotiation skills for everyone.
