This fellowship is your chance to gain hands-on leadership experience while building mentoring tools that will support future generations of STEM students.
OVERVIEW
The UCSB Center for Science and Engineering Partnerships (CSEP) Mentor Leadership Fellowship provides graduate students with an opportunity to develop valuable mentoring and leadership skills in STEM. The fellowship supports the creation of mentoring resources and outreach activities that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the UCSB STEM community. Fellows will lead campus-wide mentoring activities, such as workshops, summer training series, and the creation of new mentoring tools.

AWARD
The CSEP Mentor Leadership Fellowship offers a $5,000 stipend, which includes $4,000 for the fellow and $1,000 for mentoring activities and supplies. Fellows will gain hands-on experience in mentoring, leadership, and communication.
ELIGIBILITY
Eligible applicants are PhD students in science, engineering, or mathematics disciplines with demonstrated leadership experience and a commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion in STEM. Strong mentoring and communication skills are essential, as is a history of mentoring undergraduates.
DETAILS
The fellowship runs from January 1 to December 31, 2025. Fellows will develop a suite of mentoring activities, coordinate training workshops, and participate in campus-wide outreach. Additionally, they will have opportunities to create and disseminate mentoring resources at UCSB and beyond. For more information please visit the CSEP website.
