Writing
This student-led, peer-to-peer writing group offers a collaborative space for graduate students and postdocs to share their work, exchange feedback, and sharpen their writing skills. Whether you're working on a thesis, dissertation, or publication, the GradWrite Circle provides the support you need to refine your ideas and strengthen your arguments.
The GradWrite Circle is a graduate student-led, peer-to-peer writing review group where graduate students and postdocs can share their writing projects, receive constructive feedback, and develop their academic writing skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. The aim is to provide a space where students can both give and receive feedback, helping each other refine their ideas, clarify arguments, and strengthen their writing for publications, theses, or dissertations.
How it Works
The group is student-led, meaning the participants themselves organize and facilitate the review process, ensuring that feedback is both relevant and peer-driven. While the structure is informal, graduate students and postdocs take turns presenting drafts of their work, followed by a round of feedback and discussion.
Graduate Student Resource Center Support
The Graduate Student Resource Center (GSRC) provides the physical space, snacks, and coffee for each meeting, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for collaboration. The GSRC’s role is to support the group logistically, but the leadership and direction of the writing circle remain entirely in the hands of graduate students and postdocs.
Logistics
GradWrite will be held every Wednesday in Room 1215, GSRC, Student Resource Building, during Writer's Room, 10 am - 2 pm.
