Gil Vitro is a third year graduate student in the English department at UCSB. Their research interests are still broad, but touch on fields like oceanic humanities, migration studies, and death studies. Their main research objects are 14th and 15th century poetry, particularly within Geoffrey Chaucer's work, so if you're interested in learning more about the differences between Old and Middle English, then they are the person to ask. They earned two BAs in English and Anthropology at UC Davis, and worked directly with undergrads and grads through the UC Davis Center for Student Involvement, encouraging students to seek out communities that improve their college experience. In their free time, they like to hang out with their cat, play fantasy roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons, swim in the ocean and eat good food around Santa Barbara.
