Arts & Lectures is spearheading Race to Justice: an in-depth look at systemic racism from every angle, including abolition, underlying conditions, reparations, criminal justice and more. Interdisciplinary and cross-departmental, this season-long series engages leading activists, creatives, and thinkers to expand our understanding of racism and how race impacts society, and to inspire an expansive approach to advancing racial equality. UCSB's Department of Health & Wellness has just introduced a new program called Home Cooking Peers to teach students about cooking simple, healthy, affordable recipes, budgeting, meal planning, and kitchen safety. Students can book a 15 minute or a 25-minute one-on-one Zoom cooking coaching appointment with a Home Cooking Peer to help them improve their cooking skills and confidence. Read on to learn more!

Beginning today, UC Santa Barbara is joining other UC campuses in a pilot of California COVID Notify, California’s new, voluntary, smartphone exposure notification system (ENS). California COVID Notify is a joint effort of the University of California and the State of California, with the goal of helping mitigate the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
