OVERVIEW
The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in Northern California offers 4-year research appointments for PhD students to complete their thesis. Fellows will conduct research of interest to the Laboratory. The Livermore National Laboratory is located in Livermore, California, about 35 miles from Berkeley. A key feature of the program is the collaborative relationship between the student, the university thesis advisor, and the Laboratory technical supervisor. Joint publications should be the result of these partnerships. Fellows will spend about 75% of their year working at the Livermore Laboratory.

ELIGIBILITY
Must be a full-time graduate student pursuing a PhD. Students are expected to have completed the majority of their graduate coursework and have successfully passed any required comprehensive examinations. Applicant will be working on completing a thesis, and have a thesis advisor and an identified LLNL technical supervisor. Students must work full-time at LLNL on their research.

AWARD
Monthly stipend of $4,288 per month for an annual salary of $51,450.
