The IPS Program is designed to help graduate students and postdoctoral scholars fill in the funding gaps for pursuing opportunities that support your professional development in a variety of career trajectories.

Applications are now open for the Supporting Outstanding Academic Research (SOAR) Awards. The selection committee is soliciting applications from post-doctoral researchers and graduating PhD students in Psychology, Neuroscience, Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, or related fields with identities or perspectives under-represented in science and/or research interests that foster inclusivity in behavioral and brain sciences. Apply by October 25.

UCSB's Fall campus-wide TA Orientation is required for all graduate students who will be teaching assistants (TAs) or readers for the first time during the 2023-24 school year. The American Scandinavian Foundation Fellowships for Americans in the Nordic Countries provides short term and year long fellowships for research and creative-art projects. This program supports research in the Nordic region and preference is given for dissertation related research. Applications due Nov 1.

The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) will be implementing a new employment policy for international students, effective starting September 28, 2023. Starting this Fall, international students may work 20 hours on campus and 20 hours off campus when school is in session. Read on for more info!
