UC Santa Barbara’s National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS) Learning Hub is hosting our next coreR course in October 2023. This is a five-day introductory course on collaborative, open, reproducible, and essential data science skills. Register by August 18. You can also apply for the Director's Scholarship, which covers tuition, travel and lodging, by August 11.

The UCSB Graduate Division is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Programming Assistant. This position provides programming and resources that help graduate students and postdoctoral scholars develop the skills to become effective professionals in a variety of careers. The position runs through the 2023-24 academic year and is renewable for subsequent years. Applications are due by 11:59pm on Aug 20.

GSP supports graduate students from diverse and historically-underrepresented backgrounds throughout their graduate careers. Mentors receive stipends of $500/quarter. Apply by August 31.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is a highly competitive international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. In the 2023-24 award cycle, 11 students applied from UCSB, 9 were selected as semi-finalists, one was selected as an alternate, and 3 were selected as finalists. Congratulations to these outstanding students!
