UCSB's Department of Health & Wellness has just introduced a new program called Home Cooking Peers to teach students about cooking simple, healthy, affordable recipes, budgeting, meal planning, and kitchen safety. Students can book a 15 minute or a 25-minute one-on-one Zoom cooking coaching appointment with a Home Cooking Peer to help them improve their cooking skills and confidence. Read on to learn more!

The Office of Summer Sessions is looking to hire Teaching Associates from STEM areas to develop courses to be delivered from June 28 – July 23, 2021. These courses will be part of a collection of dynamic research tracks offered in a competitive pre-college outreach program called Summer Research Academies. Beginning today, UC Santa Barbara is joining other UC campuses in a pilot of California COVID Notify, California’s new, voluntary, smartphone exposure notification system (ENS). California COVID Notify is a joint effort of the University of California and the State of California, with the goal of helping mitigate the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

GFSD is a partnership between government agencies and laboratories, industry, and higher education. GFSD's goal is to increase the number of American citizens with graduate degrees in the physical sciences and related engineering fields, emphasizing recruitment of a diverse applicant pool.
