Campus Advocacy, Resources, & Education (CARE) is seeking graduate student ambassadors to serve as representatives to facilitate various awareness programs for the UCSB community. Ambassadors will work with CARE, their student organizations, and/or departments to share resources with peers and collaborate on educational events. The application deadline is November 19, 2018.

Join the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at UCSB and UC-Mexicanistas for their 22​nd annual colloquium on Mexican Literature (Nov 8-10). This three day event includes opportunities to hear from renowned writers, professors from Mexico, the U.S., and Europe, as well as performances and cultural activities. Events on all three days are free and open to the public.

Join UCSB's Queer and Trans Graduate Student Union on November 16 for "Envisioning LGBTQIA+ Wellbeing," an interdisciplinary conference. Come learn about research being conducted across disciplines by and for the LGBTQIA+ community. Lunch is provided for those who RSVP!

The UCSB Art Department is pleased to announce an MFA Open Studio reception and accompanying exhibition featuring sculpture, photography, installation, video, and painting created by the 1st and 2nd year MFA student cohorts. Open Studio will be held on Friday, November 2, from 5-10pm at Harder Studios.

On October 27, join the Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) ​for a visit to the spectacular Day of the Dead celebration at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. You must purchase your own ticket to the event, but OISS will provide transportation for a limited number of international students via UCSB Vans. Sign up today!

The UCSB Financial Crisis Response Team works closely with Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and other campus resources to evaluate and respond to students in urgent financial need. The annual Diversity Immigrant Visa Program is administered by the U.S. Department of State; it makes up to 50,000 immigrant visas available to persons meeting certain eligibility requirements. Visas are allocated to natives of countries with historically lower rates of U.S. immigration. Read more for information on entering the lottery.
