The Graduate Division would like to congratulate our Professional Development Peer Advisor, Daina Tagavi, for matching to the University of Washington's Psychology Internship Program. Daina will be completing the Autism and Developmental Disabilities track, where she will be working with children with autism spectrum disorders, other neurodevelopment disorders, and other co-occuring disorders in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. Applications are now open for the Graduate Student Internship Fellowship, which offers up to five $2,000-$2,500 scholarships annually to help graduate students explore career opportunities and gain valuable work experience while in school. Funds are awarded to students who demonstrate​ financial need as well as how their Summer or Fall 2020 work experience will be ​beneficial for their career trajectory. Applications are due by this Sunday, May 17th.

Nominations are open for two awards honoring graduate students who have distinguished themselves as mentors of undergraduates. Each of the six recipients will receive a $1,000 award. This year, there are important changes to the nomination process which should be reviewed carefully. The deadline to nominate is Monday, May 18, 2020.

The MRCI Graduate Student Minigrant program supports research and creative projects by individual graduate students or teams of UCSB graduate students during the 2020 Summer Session that provide insight into COVID-19 and its impacts. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is a highly competitive international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. In the 2020-21 award cycle, 21 students applied from UCSB, 4 were selected as finalists, 5 were selected as alternates, and 4 were selected as semi-finalists. Congratulations to these outstanding students!

The UCSB Graduate Division is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Programming Assistant. This position provides programming and resources that help graduate students and postdoctoral scholars develop the skills to become effective professionals in a variety of careers. The position runs through the 2020-21 academic year and is renewable for subsequent years. Applications are due by Sunday, May 10.
