The 2023 Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) Fellowship Program is now accepting applications. The Fulbright-Hays DDRA Fellowship provides funding for PhD candidates to conduct research abroad in modern foreign languages and area studies. Apply for the internal campus review by April 11!

The deadline is approaching for the University Scouts Program, a new initiative by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in collaboration with the College Entrepreneurs' Organization (CEO). The mission of the program is to help college and university start-up founders grow and succeed with the power of AWS technology and partner services. Applications due Feb 24.

Next week, UCSB Arts & Lectures welcomes acclaimed materials scientist and science communicator Dr. Ainissa Ramirez. On Feb 22, Dr. Ramirez will host a lunch and learn session on the topic of “Diversity in STEM.” On Feb 23, Dr. Ramirez will deliver an illustrated presentation on the impact of women and people of color in science and engineering. Both events are free.

Next Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 3-4pm, UCSB's Instructional Development will be hosting "Strategies for Equity-Minded Mentorship," a workshop where you can learn about best practices and resources for equity-minded mentorship, and reflect on what kinds of academic mentorship you can provide, in terms of supporting academic excellence or helping students navigate the academic ecosystem.

Universities Research Association is seeking applications for paid Summer Fellowships for graduate students in 2023 at Sandia National Laboratories (SNL). This program provides research experience in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics that support SNL's Research Foundations. The application deadline is January 31.
