All graduate students are invited to the first Grad Brunch of the academic year. Grab a burrito and other breakfast snacks and meet your fellow grad students on Wednesday, October 20 from 10 am - 12 pm at MCC Courtyard (in front of the entrance to the GSA lounge)! The event is first come, first serve and grab and go only. Make sure to wear your mask and maintain social distancing guidelines.

Students who experience stress and anxiety related to their academics and milestones may feel like their ability to complete tasks, maintain a schedule, and prepare for midterms/finals/milestones are impacted. If this resonates, you might benefit from attending the School Anxiety Program (SAP). SAP is designed to provide students with skills and tools to help manage stress and anxiety surrounding workload, milestones, & academic anxiety. SAP integrates a peer-to-peer model, where you work directly with a Mental Health Peer, who is a UCSB student. Read on to learn more and sign up!

The GSA is seeking representatives to sit on campus committees, report back to the GSA with the committee's details, and share graduate student opinions. Committees range in time commitment from a few hours per quarter to weekly meetings throughout the year, and representatives are paid for their time based on the hours spent with the committee ($50 to $250 per quarter). Join the STS Futures Initiative on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 10 - 11:30am for its second workshop, “Global STS II: Decolonial Praxis in STS.” This workshop will feature STS leaders who are pioneering new publishing opportunities in STS, expanding the Euro-American “canon” in STS, and building STS communities in Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.
